"Worried about your Child?": professional medical advice for parents
As a parent you are extra vulnerable. You want the right help for your child and if there are any problems, you always want someone you can turn to. Even at a time when there is a lot of pressure on the healthcare system. Through us you can spar with a specialist at a time of your choosing. We are not a replacement for the general practitioner or specialist, but rather act as expert advice to help you along the way.
Direct contact with the right specialist
If your child has a (medical) problem, and immediate help is not available, that can give rise to worry and stress. Through the project ‘Worried about your Child?” in collaboration with Hikos, we can bring you quickly in touch with the right specialist. During a 20 minute video consultation, you can discuss your questions and concerns. Our professionals offer advice to help you get started right away. If we think that treatment or counseling is necessary, we will let you know where you can get the right help.
We are here for you now
If your child has a non-acute complaint, then you’ve come to the right place. With such a problem, although you may not have to rush to the doctor, your son or daughter may still be suffering. We can think along with you about what you already can do yourself, or which healthcare professional you can best turn to.

An appointment in 3 steps
1. Scheduling and paying for the appointment.
With the simple appointment planner you choose the time and date and schedule a virtual consultation. Once the appointment is planned, you can pay easily and securely with iDeal. Not sure which specialist to speak to? Contact us, we are happy to help.
2. Complete the online questionnaire
You will receive a confirmation email with a questionnaire. The questions focus on your medical situation. Completing the form will help you prepare for the call with the Hikos doctor and also help you to clarify for yourself exactly what you want to know. In addition, the form provides the medical specialist with background information to help you get the most out of the conversation.
3. Video call or telephone contact
You will be invited to participate in a video call. If you would rather have a telephone appointment, please let us know. The medical specialist will call you from a private (anonymous) number. Ensure that you are in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Keep pen and paper at hand, so that you can take notes. The call will last at most 20 minutes.

“Worried about your Child?” was set up by three healthcare professionals, each with their own unique background. Dr. Jacqueline Timmermans (physician-epidemiologist), Dr. Saskia Bouma (pediatrician) and Wendy Scholtes-Bos (pediatric physiotherapist).
